- 1955 Aug 22 - BENNINGTON tests out new "Mirror Landing Aid" (glide path indicator).
The system was engaged in day & night evaluations by the Commander of Operational Developement Force.
Pilots from VX-3 and VC-4 made a total of 536 landings without incident.

Hi Lonnie,

Here in picture format are five articles that ultimately makes several articles about the mirror system. As you can see they are xerox's of poor quality originals... So use them for putting your piece together.

As you see fit, it would be nice if you gave my Dad some credit or honorable mention. He did a lot more than the average person knows. (Resurrected Air Refueling, first jet strikes on Korea, designed an early flight wheel computer for the F9F Cougar, sketched knee pad out, wrote the letter that got hazardous duty pay for flight deck personnel - which took two years and congressional hearings, on and on)
