Shipmate Shot By Sniper

On this day in Bennington History, Nov. 22 , 1963:

A shipmate was riding in a convertible, in Dallas Texas, and was shot by a sniper.

Shipmate, and Texas Governor John Connally (USS Bennington plankowner)

(coincidentally, Bennington Protestant Chaplain LCdr. ............... (I forget his name..............) was Chaplain at Naval Air Station Dallas, and was summoned to Love Field, Dallas Texas, to be with Lyndon Johnson. Shortly afterward, he was transferred to the Bennington, in Long Beach, California.)

PS We were on our way to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and had services at sea for JFK
