Hi Lonnie,
sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, lots of excuses lol.
The pics I sent were taken by me during carrier qualification in the Atlantic off Florida around Jan-Feb 1954.
Later in the spring of 1954 we were heading for Quonset Point to get fitted out for a Med cruise when the explosion took place.
I was a TE1 at the time and spent most of the next several days on radio teletype.
Lost 103 men.
Never forget it.
Anyway I'll look for some more pics for the website and will look forward to seeing them posted.
