Subject: shipmates Date: Fri, 05 May 2000 17:35:23 -0400 From: Marc Cohn To: bennington@uss-bennington.org My name is Sheila Ann Geneen. My father, Benjamin Wulfow was an original crew member on the USS Bennington during WW2. I have a picture of the crew, his citation from when they crossed the international dateline, the Bennington book and some Busy Bee's, including the one for September 2, 1945, which showed the surrender of the Japanese on the flight deck of the USS Missouri. When the ship was in Leyte, Philippines for repairs, my father was reunited with his brother, Moses Wulfow, who was a marine on the other side of the island. This reunion was made possible by the chaplain of the ship. I inherited my father's right to receive a piece of the flight deck. How can I go about getting this? I am so sorry that the ship was junked. Are there any pieces of the flight deck left. Please contact me by e-mailing be via my daughter at mwcohn@bellatlantic.net. My mother, Jeanette Wulfow, might be interested in the renunion. God bless you all. very truly yours, Sheila Ann Geneen
