This view shows the Gauntlet. This was the first activity for the pollywogs, and it was from here any pollywog could be pulled out of line and ordered to follow a shellback's shillelagh. Toward mid afternoon, many of the shellbacks were getting tired of initiation and going below. There were still hundreds of pollywogs to go, and announcements were made over the 1MC for shellbacks to report back to the flight deck.
